Winter Services – Dramatic Images

Illustrated throughout the site are many excellent images of the Railway’s operations submitted to us by dedicated supporters of the Railway who can regularly be seen at the lineside.

However some photographers take a superb photograph and through the use of photographic software turn the image into something quite striking and powerful. Below are two such examples that we have received, click on either image to see a selection of the best images portraying the Railway in a different atmospheric light.

Locomotive Roster for 15th & 16th March 2014

61994 140309 RL_1Following its part in the Winter Steam Spectacular LNER K4 2-6-0  61994 ‘The Great Marquess’ is remaining on the Railway until Tuesday18th March when the locomotive leaves for York. Accordingly the opportunity is being taken for 61994 to haul regular services on the branch throughout the coming weekend.

The following photographs celebrate the engines participation in the success of the Winter Steam Spectacular on both passenger and freight.

Locomotive Roster for 7th – 9th March

The Winter Steam Spectacular is almost upon us and the line-up for the weekend is now confirmed

Last weekend 2 of the locomotives were receiving last minute attention as illustrated below and 95820 had its final running in turns ready for the official launch into traffic.
