Locomotive Roster for the Weekend 17th & 18th December 2016

This weekend is week 4 of Santa Steam Specials and the weather, in the main, appears to be holding out so relatively kind to our passengers compared to the last few years. Just a nice sprinkling of snow and a bright sunny day would really set the scene.

Last weekend saw both USATC S160 2-8-0 5820 and WD 2-8-0 90733 on the south, Oxenhope end of the train assisted, once again, by Class 25 diesel 25 059 at the Keighley end. 90733 will be providing the steam traction on both days this weekend with the class 25 continuing at the north, Keighley, end. MR 4F 0-6-0 43924 will be the standby locomotive and will be double heading with 90733 on the evening Carol Service Train, for which just a few seats remain.

90733-1612101-pli25-059-1612101-pli

The Santa Steam Specials are sold out but the diesel service operates all day on both days and is free to those holding Santa Special tickets and is pay on the day to other passengers. Again the service will be in the hands of our class 101 diesel multiple unit.

Locomotive Roster for the Weekend 19th & 20th November 2016

This weekend is the last weekend before Father Christmas descends on the Valley and takes over all the steam workings until Boxing Day. For this final weekend before the Santa Steam Specials, MR 4F 0-6-0 43924 will be at the head of the steam service with Diesel Railbus M79964 operating on the diesel turns throughout the weekend.

43924-16101-il

If you are still thinking of booking for a Santa Steam Special, ticket sales are the best we have experienced and as a result there are only seats of two together or just one on its own. So if you want to take a Santa train, call NOW to book one of the remaining places. If you decide to come along during the Santa Season without a booked seat, there will be a diesel railcar service for anyone to still enjoy a journey along the Valley.

Whilst every effort will made to ensure that the advised motive power is available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.

Locomotive Change for Autumn Steam Spectacular
