Easter 2014 – Family Day Out on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Eggspress

It’s Family time in the Worth Valley when it is the children who take centre stage. The Railway has special activities for the children including

  • Easter Egg hunt – can you find all the Easter Eggs?
  • Activity sheets
  • AND a Prize for every completed sheet

2014-Egg-Hunt

There is so much fun even staff members Stan and Josh are enjoying the egg hunt. So join the drivers, the firemen, the guards and the train and station staff every day over the Easter Holiday period, 14th – 27th April 2014 for a great day out on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

And if that was not enough, to make the most of your day buy a DAY ROVER which includes unlimited travel on the trains, entry to the Museum of Rail Travel and Ingrow Loco Museums at Ingrow West and, when the vintage bus operates on selected midweek days (open top if good weather), allows you to take a tour of the Worth Valley area, with scenic views of the Bronte Hills.

Big Engine Locomotive Roster for Easter Weekend

Having born the brunt of working over the last few weekends and mid week MR 0-6-0 4F 43924 is given a well earned rest at Easter as two train operation comes into effect from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

5820-1980s-CS

With heavy loading from the Easter holiday crowds the trains call for big engines. The 4 day period will see WD 2-8-0 90733 head one set with USATC S160 2-8-0 5820 now in grey USA military livery, seen here in this guise in the 1980s, making its debut since being repainted into the fictitious British Railways livery as 95820 taking the other set. It promises to be an interesting and exciting Easter.

The Blue timetable will operate every day so please click here to visit the main website for timings.
