The Summer timetables are now behind us and Autumn schedule takes over. However, over the next 3 weeks we are undertaking major Civil Engineering work which, from Monday 9th September will sever the line north of Haworth Station. Whilst our volunteers start preparation for this major undertaking, we will be operating a one train passenger service on both Saturday and Sunday to the Green timetable. The motive power for the the weekend’s passenger services will be as follows:
- Saturday 7th September & Sunday 8th September:
Midland Railway Class 4F 0-6-0 43924
Diesel service – Class 101 diesel multiple unit
Timetable – Green Timetable
Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that the advised motive power is available, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway reserve the right to change this when operational circumstances so dictate.
WEEKENDS 7TH & 8TH SEPTEMBER AND 14TH & 15TH SEPTEMBER
Annually, in September, we have a week devoted to repairing our track and civil infrastructure. Occasionally we need to extend this if the repair job is too big to complete in a week! This year is one of those occasions. September 2019 will be one of those occasions, as we need three weeks to complete a repair to a retaining wall at ‘Ebor Lane’ near Haworth (the bridge made famous at the end of The Railway Children film).
With the line severed north of Haworth Station, accordingly we will be operating a revised but varied timetable:
- Steam shuttle: Oxenhope – Haworth
- Vintage Bus Service: Haworth – Ingrow
- Diesel Railcar Service: Keighley – Oakworth
